Qatar Cool, Sponsor of the Qatar Green Building Council – the Vision Conference

Qatar District Cooling Company, also known as Qatar Cool, a major district cooling company in the region was the bronze sponsor of the Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) conference that took place at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) under the title “the Vision” between the 26th and 28th of April.

The conference addressed major issues and aimed to provide answers to some of the most significant challenges of environmental sustainability and promoting best practice for the built environment for Qatar, the Gulf region and beyond. Qatar Cool has, in turn, illustrated the significant impact that district cooling has on the environment by highlighting its benefits on communities, governments and end users.

Yasser S. Al Jaidah, CEO of Qatar Cool, comments: We pride ourselves on being the leading provider of district cooling in the region. Partnering with Qatar Green Building Council for such events, helps us play a bigger role in realizing the environmental pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030. We are strong believers that such partnerships are essential to building a knowledge-based economy that it fueled by innovation and collaboration.”

It is worth mentioning that Qatar Cool takes environmental preservation very seriously, as was evident in Mohannad Khader’s, Vice President – Commercial, presentation titled “district cooling is the way forward”, which indicated some interesting statistics about the environmental impact of the company’s district cooling operations over the past five years. For example, Khader states that Qatar Cool’s district cooling operations have eliminated around 490 million Kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere since 2010. This is equivalent to the environmental effect of removing over 93 thousand vehicles from the roads, or planting 12 million mature trees.
