Qatar Cool Signs 50th Tower in West Bay
In an effort to enhance the conservational impact and development of district cooling in Qatar, Qatar Cool and the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) this summer, outlining their plans to work together to expand on environmental reserves and research with regards to district cooling, as well as explore ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of district cooling in Qatar. Qatar Cool was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yasser S. Al Jaidah, while QEERI’s Executive Director Dr. Mohammad A. Khaleel represented the institute
“Qatar Cool applauds our partners in QEERI, for their remarkable focus on the development and enhancement projects in Qatar,” said Yasser S. Al Jaidah, Chief Executive Officer, Qatar Cool. “We are eager to find ways to support and benefit from the partnership. We look forward to creating dialogues and partnerships focused on developing Qatar’s comprehensive evolution”.
The MOU between Qatar Cool and QEERI lays out plans for elevation of environmental practices and improvements focused around district cooling. Qatar Cool and QEERI will work together to strengthen institutional exchange of personnel, scientific and technological information focused on how to augment and supplement consumption of natural resources whilst ensuring maximum efficiency of service. The partnership will extend to positive activities such as forums, symposia’s and workshops/conferences.
“Safeguarding Qatar’s natural resources and ensuring wise energy usage is vital to sustain the country’s future. Qatar Cool is constantly on the lookout for progressive technologies and procedures to ensure the continuation of district cooling’s positive environmental effect,” continued Al Jaidah.
“QEERI is a national institute focused on addressing grand challenges facing our country. Various local stakeholders along with QEERI are providing scientific, technical and deployment solutions to sustain Qatar’s water resources. Qatar Cool uses the most energy efficient centralized cooling technologies. We are proud of our partnership with Qatar Cool and believe our joint efforts will result in re-use of treated water and more sustainability of our natural resources,” said Dr. Mohammad A.
