Qatar Cool Announces Yasser Al Jaidah as New CEO
Qatar District Cooling Company, also known as Qatar Cool, a major district cooling company in the region recently announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer Mr. Yasser Salah Al Jaidah, who joined the company on the 18th of January.
Before joining Qatar Cool, Yasser Salah Al Jaidah was the General Manager and Director of South Hook LNG in the United Kingdom; the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal of Western Europe and provider of 20% of the United Kingdom’s LNG consumption. He completed a bachelor’s of science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri in the United States, he is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has an Executive MBA from HEC-Paris in Shanghai, China.
He has over a decade of energy experience and has held positions throughout the field which include Maintenance, Operations Engineering, Project Management, Marketing and Venture Projects.
Al Jaidah also held a General Manager position at the RasGas Korea liaison office, an entity which he was responsible for setting up from the ground up. Al Jaidah and his Korean team played a key role in facilitating the signing of the 2012 contract between Qatar and South Korea for an additional two million tons of Qatari LNG per year for the next 20 years. He also held a position of Inlet Facilities Project Lead for the RasGas expansion phase two project and was also seconded to ExxonMobil as a Project Execution Engineer in Houston, Texas.
Qatar District Cooling Company, also known as Qatar Cool, a major district cooling company in the region joined United Development Company (UDC) in a walkathon on the Pearl-Qatar, in support of the Qatar National Sports day on the 10th February.
The walkathon took place on the board walk around the Porto Arabia marina, where Qatar Cool employees marched in support of the country’s dedication to making sports a major pillar of the Qatari community.
